Synopsis: He makes good girls...bad.

Dante Walker is flippin’ awesome, and he knows it. His good looks, killer charm, and stellar confidence has made him one of hell’s best—a soul collector. His job is simple, weed through humanity and label those round rears with a big red good or bad stamp. Old Saint Nick gets the good guys, and he gets the fun ones. Bag-and-tag.

Sealing souls is nothing personal. Dante’s an equal opportunity collector and doesn't want it any other way. But he’ll have to adjust, because Boss Man has given him a new assignment:

Collect Charlie Cooper’s soul within 10 days.

Dante doesn't know why Boss Man wants Charlie, nor does he care. This assignment means only one thing to him, and that’s a permanent ticket out of hell. But after Dante meets the quirky, Nerd Alert chick he’s come to collect—he realizes this assignment will test his abilities as a collector, and uncover emotions deeply buried.
Review: 5 Stars - The Collector is the highly anticipated first installment in the thrilling Dante Walker trilogy by debut author Victoria Scott. With a synopsis and cover like that, how can anyone NOT want to pick up this book and see what this bad boy is all about.

First and foremost I think I should just throw it out there that I’m a HUGE fan of this book. Victoria found her inner hot guy and let her fingers do the Walker, er walking to create one of those stick to your ribs - or in Dante’s case - heart kind of characters. He’s filled with all things that make an awesome book boy and then some! It’s truly some genius writing that can make or break a character and The Collector is overflowing with so much that I almost feel like I might burst with the feelings I have for this book, this story, these characters and this author.

So, this title has your uber hot book boy down – let’s just triple check that box for good measure (lol) we also have a story that took me through so many ups and downs I often found myself holding my breath. And as mentioned above that Victoria has a knack for writing the one extremely memorable boy, she also has a story that is very emotional and shows some serious character growth.

Speaking of characters I should probably talk about more than just Dante. I mean yeah, it’s Dante, but there is also Charlie who I loved reading in all her strong yet awkward glory. I loved her and loved how Dante was affected by her and how in turn she affected by him. Both for better and worse it was a bumpy ride that’s far from over at the conclusion of this title.

The relationship between these two, the hot cocky guy that everyone wants to know or be with and the nerdy girl with few friends who’s more of a fly on the wall… what could go wrong for these two as Dante goes about to complete his assignment. I think it was these parts that I often held my breath because you never knew how things would play out as they both struggled to figure out not only each other but themselves.

The Collector is without a doubt a favorite of mine for 2013. Dante and Charlie are forever branded inside my head and have a place in my heart as well. (As does Victoria, but I think she knows that.) This title, the characters and their journey was so much more than I expected to find in this little book with the swoonworthy packaging that I wish I could properly express my love for all things The Collector.

All in all I’ll say that Victoria was without a doubt found what she’s meant to do and that’s write strong characters and wonderfully stories for every reader to get lost in. It’s the authors who write the books that we remember and love there’s not a question in my mind that Victoria has much more to tell. I know I’ll be listening and reading and watching out for more from this amazing new literary author.

I highly recommend The Collector to anyone who is looking for a great YA title to get lost in. It’s filled with emotions, growth and an epic fight when it comes to choices in good versus evil.  Seriously people, it’s good. Really, really good and you have no idea what your missing.
